When I first discovered CrossFit, I was hooked immediately. Here is a “sport” that is exercise. Or is it an “exercise” that is a sport? Either way you look at it, CrossFit has gotten me into the best shape of my life. This is a rather impressive accomplishment, given that I’ve been a competitive athlete since youth (and I’m almost 45!).
I have been lucky to be a life-long student of fitness and athletics. “Lucky” because I am aware that others haven’t had the same opportunities for the kind of excellent coaching and training that I’ve had. I graduated from Western Maryland College with a degree in Exercise Science. Additionally, I hold certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a certified personal trainer and CrossFit Level 1 Instructor.
Working with children and adults as a fitness trainer and coach has always been a passion of mine. After spending over 25 years working in the swimming pool construction industry and having my own business, I finally decided to turn my passion into my career and teach fitness fulltime.
Functional movements (movements used in everyday life) are the foundation of the CrossFit program. Encouraging and showing people how to adapt to these movements and the intensity of the program is so rewarding because the results are so impressive. Regardless of your age or fitness level, with CrossFit and my expert guidance, you will discover that your best days of fitness are not behind you, but well within your reach!

“I recently attended the CrossFit regionals in Pennsylvania and that sealed the deal so to speak for me. I am a full time police officer currently assigned as the fitness coordinator for my agency. I am also a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. I have been CrossFitting for a few years but have never been affiliated with a box, unless the police academy counts, we do have rings, kettlebells and rowers so we aren’t that far off! I am a CrossFit kettlebell instructor and am scheduled to attend the Level 1 cert in June. Since most of my daytime life is spent training recruits, starting from the ground up, I really enjoy working with beginners to intermediates.”
Jenn Null – jnull@arenalfitness.com
I found CrossFit in the summer of 2008 when I saw random people doing weird workouts in a park. I instantly ‘drank the kool-aid’ and later became a CrossFit L1 Certified Coach, and also attended the CrossFit Football Certification. I’ve played rugby for 10 years, currently with Keystone Rugby Club in the Women’s Premiership League, and won the 2004 DII National Championship with Temple U. I’ve played soccer, softball, completed a few triathlons and will try any sport at least once. As a power sport athlete, I’ve focused my CrossFit knowledge and training on power and strength. I am also attending the Starting Strength Coaching Seminar in June with Mark Rippetoe.
