Aldona, you are an IRONMAN!!

Congratulations to one of our Arenal Fitness family members, Aldona Glemza, who became an Ironman at Lake Placid this past weekend!!  WAY TO GO…WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!

Basics Graduation

Sherri graduated from CrossFit Basics today.  She did an awesome job and kicked butt in her graduation WOD.  CONGRATULATIONS SHERRI!!!!  Can’t wait to have you in class.

WOD, Wednesday, 7/28/10

The 2010 CrossFit Games held in Carson, California at the Home Depot Center were amazing to watch.  The athleticism, the camaraderie, the passion amongst all of the athletes and the fans either live or via computer stream was SPECTACULAR!!!

Yes, it was a competition and everyone was trying to win but, where else do you see opponents cheer each other on and support them until the end? CROSSFIT, THAT’S WHERE!!!

Today our CFitters completed one of the WODs that was at the CrossFit Games:

Affiliate Event #3
2 Rounds for time of:
400m Run
15 Box Jumps over 24″ box
15 DB Squat Cleans 45/25lb
30 Double Unders (120 Single Unders)
15 Push-ups w/hand release
15 GHD Sit-ups
150ft. Lunge


WOD – Tuesday, 7/27/10

We had fraternal triplet WOD today.  3 variations of the same workout.  “Barbara”, “Barbara Lite”, and “Barbie” – no matter which triplet was chosen, our CFitters got a great workout!  And that, my friends, is what it’s all about!!!

“Barbara”

Five rounds, each for time of:
20 Pull-ups
30 Push-ups
40 Sit-ups
50 Squats

Rest precisely three minutes between each round.

or

Three rounds for time of:
Walking lunge 15 meters
Sit-ups, 15 reps

So by now everyone has seen previous posts showing the exercises performed during “Barbara”.  Here are some light-hearted pix of our family and how much they enjoy their workouts.

Cardio WODs = endurance workouts. They are necessary just as much as the strength days and metcons.

They have been programmed more frequent as of late and hopefully everyone can see their times and performance improving.

Run 800 meters
Rest 2 minutes

PLEASE ACCEPT OUR APOLOGIES…WE DO NOT HAVE ANY PICTURES TODAY DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES!!!

Ok, so here’s the truth…the technical difficulty was due to the fact that the memory card was full from all of the great pictures our trainers took all week long and they didn’t want to just go ahead and erase photos in order to open up room on the card for this class.  Wouldn’t you be mad if you were the one who’s picture they erased and we got a great shot of you hitting a PR, a shot you would be so proud of and want to share with all of your friends and family?

Rest assure, the card is now clear, batteries are charged, and it’s ready to go for this week.  :)

WOD, Friday, 7/23/10

Today we had to erase a lot of numbers in our white board blocks.

WHY????

BECAUSE OUR CFITTERS ARE THE BEST AND ALWAYS PUSH THEMSELVES TO ACCOMPLISH JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE THAN THEY DID THE LAST TIME!!
